Electric City Barn
Electric City Barn is an innovative hub designed to bolster the creative economy by connecting emerging makers and community members through project based programming–a place where creativity works.
The 9,000+ sq. ft. space
The space is separated into studios specialized to meet the technical needs of both established and emerging artists, craftsmen and women, and creative businesses. Each studio was chosen based on its applicability to rising industries in the Capital Region, particularly those experiencing skill gaps in employment efforts. Our hope is that this space will unite creatives of all backgrounds to collaborate, assist, nurture, and support each other.
The space consists of a wood shop, fiber arts and textile studio, digital media lab with 3D printing, large format printing, and CNC router, and a stage with dressing room. The wood shop, podcasting studio, and fiber arts studio are considered specialty studios and will require safety training to access independently. We are working closely with local experts to ensure the studios are outfitted with equipment that will best suit the needs our members. Each studio will be assigned Keyholder Members who will oversee safety protocols and training, tool purchasing and maintenance, and inventory.
