Makers, creatives, entrepreneurs and artists can utilize space, gain a community, and receive resources with our sliding scale membership model^ Our membership is broken down by space and studio to offer flexible, accessible, and affordable options. Here’s a breakdown:
Individual General Membership
$50.00 Annually
Individual General Membership is a recurring annual fee with no key card access, and use of day passes during office hours only. Individual General Membership is now combined to cover all of Albany Barn, Inc. spaces (Albany Barn and Electric City Barn).
Individual General Membership includes:
- ECB/AB Merch of Choice (one-time),
- All safety training for Specialty Studios at ECB,
- One day pass (ECB) and discounts on future day passes, and
- Discounts on select merchandise, classes, and events (including ABI’s annual fundraiser: FUSION anti-gala).
Individual Co-Working+ Membership
$30.00 Monthly Base
Add $20.00/Month per Specialty Studio
This is a recurring monthly fee with key card access and the ability to add Specialty Studios. Co-Working Membership includes all the open areas in our maker space along with tools and resources kept there. With Co-Working Membership, you get access to the following labs and areas: Downstairs Co-Working Space and Stage, Media Lab, Co-Working Fiber Arts, and Lounge Spaces. Co-Working Membership access is 10am-8pm, 7 days a week. The following Specialty Studios can be added to Co-Working Membership provided safety and/or competency training has been completed: Wood Shop, Metal Shop, Specialty Fiber Arts, and Print Shop. These can be accessed by day pass usage or can be an additional monthly fee for Specialty Studio access is 10am-8pm, 7 days a week. Individual Co-Working+ Membership includes everything listed for Individual General Membership.
Organizational Membership
$175.00 Starting Monthly Base

Keyholder Membership
Keyholder Membership is only offered by staff to current members. Keyholder members aid in developing lab and studio spaces, safety and technical protocols, and oversee maintenance. Keyholders, in exchange for their expertise, are given a key to the space with 24/7 access. **If you have questions about Keyholders at ECB, inquire with Eric Szyjka, Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator, at eric@albanybarn.org**
^Co-Working+ and Organizational Membership includes a set up fee. Independent Specialty Studio use requires a passed safety and/or competency training. All Members must be 18+ years of age. The Membership sliding scale of up to 50% off is based on proof of Annual Income and compares to the U.S. Dept. of HUD NY income guidelines of the area.
